INVERDEE HOUSE – ABERDEEN, (SEPA)
Inverdee House is an extensive project commissioned by the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA). The building created a new office for SEPA and it’s laboratories and also for Scottish Natural Heritage and Joint Nature Conservation Committee. The intention in the design of this building was to reduce the impact on the environment through best practices of sustainable design and construction methods. The resulting building achieved a BREEAM excellent rating and an EPC A rating.
The scheme occupies a remarkable position fronting one the few remaining working harbours in Britain. The Keppie designed building only reveals its full height to the north-an environment animated by shipping serving the oil industry. The 4500m2 structure, spread over three floors, sets the key work spaces to the north, facing the harbour whilst service spaces; plant, meeting rooms, toilets, etc occupy the southern wing, minimising the impact of solar gain on the core accommodation.
We worked on the modular SIP elevation, which created the opportunity to provide the random positioning of differently- sized windows distributed along the elevation. The roof of the building was made of pre-cast concrete slab units, overlain by the interlocking roof SIP panels, which provided a high level of insulation and the working platform for the installation of roof finishes. The precast units provide optimum thermal mass for ideal ambient climate control to maximise energy efficiency.

Aquatics Centre – London
London Aquatics Centre,comprising a 50m competition pool, 25m diving pool and a 50m training pool, was erected for the London 2012 Olympic Games. The challenge to Balfour Beatty, the contractor, was to construct a building which meets the needs of Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA)
Blythswood Square Hotel – Glasgow
Blythswood Square (part of the PH Hotels) is an award winning, splendid 5-star spa hotel in Glasgow City Centre. Atom Consultants acted as Project Managers & Structural Engineers for the extensive refurbishment of this Grade B listed townhouse building.
Rhinefield House Hotel Brockenhurst, Hampshire

DOCKLANDS LIGHT RAILWAY STATIONS, LONDON: BECKTON CONTROL CENTRE, SHADWELL STATION & STRATFORD INTERNATIONAL CENTRE
Atom Consultants, at the forefront of latest technology, created an asset registry for interactive geospatial maps for several of the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) metro stations owned by Transport for London (TfL), such as the Stratford International Station and the Shadwell Station.

Great Yarmouth Power Station in South Denes

C.A.S.P.A.R Apartments – Leeds
This Joseph Rowntree Foundation’s scheme in Leeds was set to prove that it is possible to develop an award-winning apartment block for the private-rented sector, then let it at below market rents and still make an attractive return on investment without any subsidy. The Leeds scheme was the second in a development blueprint programme called CASPAR – City-Centre Apartments for Single People at Affordable Rents.
