OUR WORK
MODULAR SIPS (Structural Insulated Panels) FOR SCHOOL BUILDINGS:
Originally developed for the BSF school building programme and now targeted towards the PF2 schools, a range of modular wall panel products have been developed and successfully implemented on a number of school projects with Balfour Beatty. The panelised system has been developed as part of the Balfour Beatty Modular system build approach to construction which facilitate rapid erection of the building envelope resulting in reduced construction times due to early availability of the internal work areas for the finished trades. Panels of up to 7.8m x 3.9m are lifted into position by cranes and secured to pre-engineered support brackets within a matter of minutes. Up to 28 large format panels are installed in a typical working day allowing the installation of the elevations a typical 6000sq.m academy size school to be delivered in a period of around 2 weeks. The elevation panels are developed in a detailed BIM model to exact dimensions for manufacturing. Accurate construction and installation then facilitated the installation of the windows to provide a weather tight enclosure in a very short timescale.
MODULAR CONSTRUCTION:
” The implementation of Off-Site manufacture for this school delivery programme was an essential part of our winning bid. Atom Consultants helped us develop this exceptional new delivery method for schools and provided our bid team with many highly detailed images which helped explain our proposals to the Clients team. “
