OUR WORK
DOCKLANDS LIGHT RAILWAY STATIONS, LONDON: BECKTON CONTROL CENTRE, SHADWELL STATION & STRATFORD INTERNATIONAL CENTRE
Atom Consultants, at the forefront of latest technology, created an asset registry for interactive geospatial maps for several of the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) metro stations owned by Transport for London (TfL), such as the Stratford International Station and the Shadwell Station. We also worked on the Control Centre at Beckton, which was built to ensure the rail service remains operational in the event of a major incident during the 2012 Olympic Games. We took the facilities management to a whole new level by developing a unique reference number relating to each and every asset, allowing the client to keep record of it’s location as well as it’s geospatial aspects. This means that each asset was recorded in BIM with a direct link from each component to the client’s asset management system, allowing them to view the real-time status to see whether the asset is active or requires a service, dispatch asset jobs to your field workers eg. for inspections or servicing, and update asset details from the field. Using the map to locate the field worker closest to the asset enables faster response to unplanned service jobs, giving TfL and competitive edge.

” Atom Consultants have brought considerable knowledge to our team in guiding us through the implementation of BIM for Assett management at DLR. “
